30 Causes, Week 29: American Cancer Society

Week 29 of ’30 Causes’ has been awarded to the American Cancer Society. Established in 1913, the ACS has grown into one of the oldest and largest volunteer health organizations in the country. Now with more than 900 offices nationwide, the organization uses its funds to create public advertising campaigns and operates a series of thrift stores to assist in fundraising, in addition to supporting research and advocacy for all forms of the disease. The ACS also hosts annual and regional events, including the popular Relay for Life and Great American Smokeout.
