FIRST provides science and technology education and opportunities for
children in grades K-12.

The market is teachers who want to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, innovators, and self-confident, well-rounded contributors to society.

Challenge

FIRST wanted a partner that would create an inspiring, hopeful, optimistic, and relatable exhibit environment to promote the company’s leadership in providing materials for STEM (Science, Technology Engineering, and Math) educators. FIRST has a 30-year history, but their name wasn’t well known for the engaging and innovative experiences they provide to students K-12. FIRST wanted the exhibit to elicit powerful feelings and create an emotional experience for educators in attendance, one that invites them into a “sky’s the limit” FIRST atmosphere, and one that inspires lifelong learners, leaders, innovators, problem solvers, builders, and dreamers.

Solution

With four programs for grades K-12—Lego League, Lego League Jr., Tech Challenge, and Robotics Competition—FIRST attracted science teachers to this 20’ x 20’ exhibit, which plays off the colors and angles of FIRST’s logo and gives unique space to each program.

The exhibit provides a simple yet warm and bright environment with its eye-catching main structure, which communicates the structurally sound basis of FIRST’s curriculum materials. Each age group or grade has its own engagement area, and the exhibit also allowed FIRST to highlight one of their most popular offerings in robotics.

Results

The exhibit at NSTA provided FIRST with their initial creative presence at an industry exhibition. They were pleased with the results and eager to continue marketing at future shows.

“I just wanted to send a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to you and the entire Access team for welcoming us to your office and being such wonderful hosts. It is clear that your team is very passionate and dedicated; something that Access and FIRST employees have in common. I am beyond pleased with the booth, and very excited to see it on the trade show floor next week.”
