Hamilton Showcases Multiple Business Units with Open Exhibit Design

Hamilton is the largest automated liquid handling company in the world. Along the way, many new technologies have emerged in the areas of sensor and measuring technology, as well as the founding of a medical company.

On a fact-finding mission at an event industry trade show, Hamilton’s exhibit manager stopped at the Access TCA exhibit to ask if we could provide a rental exhibit for the company’s exhibit at SLAS 2023. We were only happy to help. In learning more about Hamilton, we found that the company has four business units, all with their own products and exhibit programs.

SLAS2023 was a success, and shortly after our new client told us that she was now in charge of all the exhibit programs at Hamilton and wanted us to build a custom exhibit to highlight all the business units and product groups. She also wanted a structure that featured open spaces—as opposed to their previous look—which used walls to separate products.

The Result

We took the Hamilton exhibit from opaque walls to open archways that could support product images and information. Backlit graphics were on the outer frames of each arch, facing the aisle and showing specific products.

The archways provided a path for attendees to take in the product displays, another advantage of open space. The arches and all structures are free-standing. Everything had built-in lighting, including the archways, which had built-in LED lighting that changed colors along a pre-set gradient.

The large monitor kiosks had interactive touchscreens that covered all the solutions provided by a specific business unit.

A big benefit for future use is that the exhibit is modular and can be reconfigured to various spaces: 20’ x 100’, 40’ x 50’, or 20’ x 20’, for example.

Access designed a scavenger hunt for the exhibit, a knowledge driver using QR codes. The QR codes not only provided information about Hamilton but also directed attendees to partner booths. When attendees visited Hamilton and its partner exhibits, they won a prize.
