Make Way for PCMA

PCMA is the world’s largest community for business events strategists, providing senior-level education, networking, and market intelligence for the global business events industry.
Traditionally held at the beginning of the calendar year, PCMA’s annual meeting is a must for business events executives making decisions that ultimately result in revenue for both the exhibitors and the suppliers they meet in the exhibition hall. PCMA’s annual meeting is a must-exhibit mandate for hotels, airlines, contractors, and cities that understand the revenue professional business events generate.

The Experience

In 2024, Access began its partnership with Boston’s two advocacy organizations: Meet Boston, which represents the Visitors’ Bureau, and Signature Boston, which represents the Convention Bureau. Together, the two groups unite to provide a powerful incentive for meeting in Boston. Again, in 2025, Access was asked to create Boston’s exhibit for the event. Using the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge as the signature piece for both years, 2025 saw a new layout and enhanced engagement for attendees.

The 2025 exhibit celebrated Robert McCloskey’s Boston-based children’s book Make Way for Ducklings and the new Lego headquarters coming to Boston.

A Lego artist created a live LEGO build of the Make Way for Ducklings story, including Lego replicas of the bronze ducklings in Boston’s Public Gardens.

In addition, Boston Dynamics’ robotic dog Spot along with his favorite fire hydrant, was featured in the exhibit.

PCMA is very much an experience-focused event. Each exhibit features an activation. When exhibitors submit renderings, they must submit a full description of the activation(s) happening in the space, not just the exhibit structure. It’s one of the elements that makes PCMA an industry favorite.
